Pruning Wisteria

1. Cut Basal vegetative growth
2. Any dead or damaged branches
3. Extra vegetative growth close to framework, 2-3 buds on a slanted cut so rain can not build up in the crevasse.
4. Tie any branches you can use to cover areas.
5. to promote flowering, root prune 2ft around the base of the plant to shock it into blooming
Never cut any major branches. Like a tree, you do not want to cut the leader.
