Native to South Africa
Common name, Lead wort, thought to heal lead poisoning and worts
Soil: Light sandy soil with good drainage
full sun (will flower more) or part shade. Slightly drought tolerant in shade
Ground cover
Foiliage can turn red in fall when it gets cold. Looses its leaves in winter. Blue Blooms throughout summer and fall.
Hardy to zone 5
Propogation: cuttings, division, or seed taken in winter or early spring. Blooms off of current seasons growth so cutting it in late spring before the seasons bloom might hinder the amount of blooms. After the first blooms are spend you can cut it back and might get another bloom period. Cutting in early spring will promote more blooms.
