Dwarf Crested Iris- Cristata

This species of iris is quite small ranging between 6-10 inches and blooms in the spring time. It can be found in clumps in rich moist forest floors with good drainage. It can take part sun to shade. The woody rhizomes like to be exposed at the surface which helps promote growth of blooms and the roots should be buried underground. If dividing the clumps in Spring or fall, cut the tips of the foliage to promote more root growth.
